Martin West (born Martin Weixelbaum, August 28, 1937 in Southampton, New York, USA) is an American actor of film and television best known for playing the grieving father Lawson in ''John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13'' as well as the lead role in ''Freckles''. He is also known for playing roles in the soap opera's ''General Hospital'' as Dr Phil Brewer and ''As the World Turns'' as Donald "Don" Hughes (he was the fifth actor to play both of these roles). His work also includes appearances in films such as ''Soldier Blue'' and ''Mac and Me'' and guest appearances in television programs such as ''The Invaders'' and ''Matlock''.
